One Point |
Define the cylinder by a single point on the point cloud representing a cylinder. Best used with good quality data. Select the point cloud in the pipe region using one point. The point cloud within the seed region is analyzed and a pipe is drawn to fit. Some adjustments may need to be made to the seed region and Root Mean Square (RMS) values for good results.
Three Points |
Define the cylinder by three points. Point 1 is at the beginning of the pipe, point two is at the end of the pipe and point three defines the radius of the pipe. Use in the case of poorer quality data. The pipe is approximated by selecting a point at one end, the next at the other end and another approximating the radius of the pipe. The pipe will be fitted to the point cloud within that region.
Pipe Run |
Defines a number of pipe segments and, optionally, elbows in a continuous operation. Use with best quality data. Multiple pipe segments can be placed in one operation. Select the pipe segments with a single point. Continue along the pipe run until complete. If Create Elbow is selected then elbows will be placed after the pipe run is complete.
Maximum RMS Error |
The maximum Root Mean Square error permitted when processing the point cloud.
Output |
Defines the output type.
Solid |
Produces a solid object.
Surface |
Produces a surface object.
Center Line |
Produces a line along the center of the pipe.
Annotate with Radius |
Produces annotation with the pipe radius.
Annotate with RMS |
Produces annotation with the Root Mean Square value.
Create Elbow |
Creates an elbow when using the pipe run method.
Group As |
Specifies how cylinders are grouped:
- Graphical Cell
- Graphic Group
Seed Region |
Defines the region or volume for processing.
Automatic |
Automatically determines a seed region.
Manual |
Manually defines the seed region using the parameter specified. The value can be selected from the model by using the measure tool. Use the Show Seed Region tool to preview the size of the region dynamically on the mouse pointer.
Constrain Direction |
Choose from the following options:
Free |
No constraint on the output.
Hz/Vz |
Constrains output to be horizontal or vertical.
Hz/Vz ACS |
Constrains output to be horizontal or vertical relative to the ACS.
Use All Point Clouds |
Uses all attached point clouds for the operation.
