ConstructSim Work Package Server Setup Guide

To Pre-Configure the ConstructSim Work Package Server Application Server

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or higher should be installed.

Note: You need to manually install CLR types on your application server prior to installing ConstructSim Work Package Server Application Server.

For Microsoft SQL Server 2012, use:
  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 SP2 Feature Pack (Get SQLSysClrTypes.msi)
  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 SP2 Feature Pack (Get SQLSysClrTypes_amd64.msi)
For Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2, use:
  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 SP2 Feature Pack (Get SQLSysClrTypes_amd64.msi)
  1. Turn off User Account Control setting.
  2. Turn on Remote Connection for Domain Users. (Go to Control Panel > System > Remote settings to open the System Properties dialog. Open the Remote tab and in the Remote Desktop section, turn on Allow remote connections to this computer and click OK. )
  3. Turn off Windows Firewall by going to Start menu > Control Panel > Windows Firewall and in the left pane, selecting Turn Windows Firewall on or off. In the Customize Settings screen, turn off Windows Firewall.
    Note: If you cannot disable the Firewall, see Exposing Ports.
  4. Add your domain user to Administrator group on your machine. (Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management. In the Computer Management dialog, expand Local Users and Groups and select Groups. In the middle pane, double-click Administrators. In the Administrators Properties dialog, click Add to add your domain user and then click OK.)
  5. From the Microsoft website, install Microsoft Sync Framework 2.1 Redistributable Package in the following order:
    1. Synchronization-v2.1-x64-ENU
    2. ProviderServices-v2.1-x64-ENU
    3. DatabaseProviders-v3.1-x64-ENU
    4. WindowsIdentityFoundation-SDK-4.0:
      • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 - download and install it from Microsoft support website.
      • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - install through the Windows Server Roles and Features wizard.
  6. Create an eB Domain user account and grant local admin permissions to the eB Domain user account on the eB Application Server.

    This domain account is used for the eB application service and must have Log on as a service user's right.

  7. Add eB Domain user account for security policy Log on as a service.
