ConstructSim Work Package Server Setup Guide

To Upload CAD and ISO Data to the Project for Pipe Engineering Work Package

This procedure describes how to upload data to a project to create a Pipe engineering work package.

  1. Open ConstructSim Work Package Server and log in to the project.
  2. From the Engineering pane, click Create engineering work packages.
  3. Create a pipe engineering work package. (See the ConstructSim Work Package Server documentation on how to create an engineering work package.)
  4. In the <Title - Description> Engineering work package window, go to the CAD models tab and click Upload.
  5. In the Upload CAD models window, click Select files and in the Choose File to Upload dialog, select the following files (ConstructSimData > Projects > [your project] > ProjectData > CAD > PDS) :
    • DGN files
    • CSIM.mdb2
    • PDS_Hierarchy.mdb
  6. After the checkmark displays to the left of the file name(s), close the Upload CAD models window. The files display on the CAD models tab.
  7. Set the Model type and CAD data source as follows:
    File Model type CAD data source
    DGN files PDS DGN PDSFiles (the PDS CAD Converter you configured earlier)
    CSIM.mdb2 PDS MDB2 PDSFiles
    PDS_Hierarchy.mdb PDS Hierarchy PDSFiles
    Note: You can simultaneously set the Model type and CAD data source for multiple files by clicking the check box in the left column, and then from the Download selected drop down, choose Set properties > Set model type > or Set properties > Set CAD data source. A dialog opens allowing you to choose the model type or CAD data source for all selected files.
  8. In the <Title - Description> Engineering work package window, go to the ISO Transmittals tab and click Upload. The Upload ISO transmittals window opens.
  9. Click Select files and in the Choose File to Upload dialog, select the PipeIsoTransmittal.zip file (ConstructSimData > Projects > [your project] > ProjectData > ISOs). The file uploads and displays on the ISO transmittals tab.
  10. In the ISO transmittals tab, from the Mapping drop down, choose ISO_IDF.xml
  11. From the Download selected drop down, select Import. When import is complete, the message Imported Successfully displays in the Import status field.
