Bentley OpenComms PowerView Readme

Introduction

OpenComms PowerView provides a disconnected solution for reviewing data and maintaining mark ups of Design Network data created by OpenComms Designer—i.e. OSP (Base, Strand, Duct, Coax, Fiber and Copper) and/or ISP (Inside Building/Cabinet networks and Inside Plant equipment racks typically found in Central Offices or Head Ends/Hub sites).

OpenComms Powerview reads SQLite database files for the extracted feature information. Previous versions of CommsPowerView used Microsoft Access to generate a single *.mdb file to contain the database information for reviewing the features.

The new OpenCommsPowerview client application can open and review either the new Extracts that generated SQLite database files, or the older CPV exports which generated the commsdb.mdb file. When opening the graphic file with OpenCommsPowerview, if there are SQLite database files in the folder with the graphic, it will use SQLite. If there are NO SQLITE database files, but an mdb file is found, the program will read the mdb file. (See NOTE below.)

Note: To view older exports (which generated MS Access mdb files) with the new OpenCommsPowerView client, the user must install the AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe redist file located at this link:
