Land Use Area elements are representative of a continuous land cover type (i.e. farm land), with similar overland characteristics. The hydrologic properties of a Land Use Area are applicable to 1D catchments as well as a 2D grid. We similar 2D computational grid. During a Generate Grid operation, the 2D grid cells that overlap a Land Use Area polygon will be assigned its surface definition values, such as SCS CN. The right click “Compute Subareas” option for a select catchment, will generate the Subareas collection of the catchment proportionally to the areas of each intersection Land Use Area.
