New Compatible Unit Dialog
Lets you create new compatible units and macro units. Use this dialog when you want to create a new public unit (if you have this capability) or a new private unit. Mandatory fields appear in bold type.
Monetary values can be typed in the text or entered with the keypad that opens with the Calculator button.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
ID | An alphanumeric identifier for the unit. Limited to 15 characters. |
Name | The alphanumeric name of the compatible unit or macro unit. Limited to 50 characters. |
Type | The type of ownership for the unit (public or private). |
Labor Type | The type of labor used in working with the unit. If the unit is assigned as a variable-rate unit, the Labor Type setting determines the labor rate used by Bentley OpenUtilities Designer in calculating costs. Labor rates are defined for labor types during configuration. |
Work Type | The type of work environment in which construction takes place. The Work Type setting, in conjunction with the assigned unit's life-cycle status, reflects the man-hours required by the unit (for variable-rate units) or level of labor cost (for fixed-rate units) and thus determines the labor rate used by Bentley OpenUtilities Designer in calculating costs. |
Hourly Labor Rate | The labor rate (in dollars per hour) for the selected Labor Type setting. Limited to $99,999.99. This value is used in calculations for variable-rate units only and does not apply to fixed-cost units. |
Scrap Value | The allowed discount for returning the materials that make up the unit. This value, which is subtracted from the design's total cost, is used in cost calculations only if the assigned unit has a life-cycle status of Proposed Remove. Limited to $99,999,999.99. |
Salvage Value | The allowed discount for returning back into stock the materials that make up the unit. This value, which is subtracted from the design's total cost, is used in cost calculations only if the assigned unit has a life-cycle status of Proposed Remove. Limited to $99,999,999.99. |
Fixed Labor Cost | Indicates that a fixed labor cost is to be applied for the current Labor Type and Work Type settings. If this is selected and a value has been defined for the assigned unit's life-cycle status, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer applies the fixed-cost value in calculating labor costs for the design. |
Linear | Sets the unit as a linear unit. If this is checked, the unit will derive the default value for its Quantity property from the length of the work spans and span features to which it is assigned. The Quantity default value of a nonlinear unit is 1. |
Is Retired | Indicates that the unit has been retired and is therefore obsolete. A retired unit is not available for assignment with a Proposed Install status, but it still exists within the database to maintain old designs. This property is set externally. |
Retired Date | The date and time when the unit was retired. This information is supplied from an external source |
Description | A description of the unit. Limited to 255 characters. |
Owner | The name of the user who is responsible for the unit and therefore has the authority to make changes to the unit data. By default, the user who creates the unit is the owner. |
Creator | The login name of the person who created the unit. Limited to 8 characters. |
Created | The date on which the unit record was created. |
Modified | The date on which the unit data was last changed. |
OK | Closes the dialog and saves any changes. |
Cancel | Closes the dialog without saving any changes. |
Custom | Opens a custom dialog for specifying custom attribute values. This button appears dimmed if no custom dialog is available. |
Help | Opens the Help topic for this dialog. |
