Create a New WorkSpace level CSB

This will make the vital connection between the CSB and the ProjectWise WorkSpace.

  1. In ProjectWise Administrator, under WorkSpaces > Managed > Workspace, right-click over the Workspace level and select New > Configuration Block.
  2. In the New Configuration block properties dialog under the General tab, specify the name and description of the CSB and click Apply.
    • Name: BRCM_CE_WORKSPACENAME
    • Description: BRCM CONNECT Dynamic WorkSpace
  3. Under the Configuration tab, click '+' and select Add Variable.
  4. In the New variable dialog define the following variable information and click Add to add the new variable:
    • Name: _USTN_WORKSPACENAME
    • Description: BRCM CE Dynamic WorkSpace Variable
    • Locked = Enabled
  5. In the Edit Value dialog that displays, set the following values and click OK:
    • Operation type: '=' - Assignment
    • Value type: String
    • Value: $(lastdirpiece(dms_parentproject(_dgndir)))
  6. Review the properties and click OK.

    We can add more variables according to specific requirements. For example, a separate Projectwise folder can be defined for reports to be saved.

    First add a variable for Reports generated from output model.

  7. In the WorkSpace Configuration block properties dialog, under the Configuration tab, click '+' and select Add variable.
  8. In the New variable dialog define the following variable information and click Add to add the new variable:
    • Name: BRCM_PW_SUBFOLDER_REPORTS
    • Description: Project subfolder for reports
    • Locked: Enabled
  9. In the Edit Value dialog that displays, set the following values and click OK:
    • Operation type: '=' -Assignment
    • Value Type: ProjectWise Folder
    • Value: Specify the ProjectWise folder where you will save the reports.
  10. Click OK in New variable dialog and review the properties. Repeat Step 7 to add new variable for the Cable Pull Card report.
  11. In the New variable dialog define the following variable information and click Add to add the new variable:
    • Name: BRCM_PW_SUBFOLDER_CPS
    • Description: Project subfolder for cable pull cards
    • Locked = Enabled
  12. In the Edit Value dialog that displays, set the following values and click OK:
    • Operation type: '=' -Assignment
    • Value Type: ProjectWise Folder
    • Value: Specify the ProjectWise folder where you will save the CPC reports.
  13. Review the properties and click OK.
