Create a new Global level CSB

  1. In ProjectWise Administrator, under WorkSpaces > Managed > Global, right-click on the Global level and select New > Configuration Block.
  2. In the New Configuration Block Properties dialog, enter the following as the Name and Description for the CSB then click Apply.
    • Name: BRCM_CE_Global_Config_Variables
    • Description: BRCM CONNECT Global Configuration Variables
  3. In the Configuration tab click '+' and select Add Variable.
  4. In the New variable dialog define the following variable information and click Add to add the new variable:
    • Name: _USTN_DISPLAYALLCFGVARS
    • Description: BRCM CE display all Configuration Variables
    • Locked = Enabled
  5. In the Edit Value dialog that displays, set the following values and click OK:
    • Operation type: '=' - Assignment
    • Value type: String
    • Value: 1
  6. Click OK in the New variable dialog
  7. In the New Configuration block properties dialog, under the Configuration tab, click '+' and select Add variable.
  8. In the New variable dialog define the following variable information and click Add to add the new variable:
    • Name: _USTN_WORKSETDGNWSROOT
    • Description: BRCM CE Root folder for <Workset.dgnws>
    • Locked = Enabled
  9. Create a new directory named WorkSet_Dgnws_Files in the following location:

    C:\Programdata\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces

  10. In the Edit Value dialog that displays, set the following values and click OK:
    • Operation type: '=' - Assignment
    • Value type: Directory
    • Value: Specify the path for the WorkSet_Dgnws_Files folder created above.
    Important: In the process of creating a workset in BRCM CE, a workset configuration file (<worksetname>.cfg) and a corresponding DGN workset file (<worksetname>.dgnws) are created. BRCM will look for the <worksetname>.dgnws file in the same folder as the <worksetname>.cfg file. Therefore, when setting up a managed configuration, remove the existing <worksetname>.dgnws file from the local configuration and from ProjectWise in order to create <worksetname>.dgnws file and use from the location defined by _USTN_WORKSETDGNWSROOT variable in the CSB.
  11. After clicking OK in New variable dialog, review the properties and click OK.
