Access i-models from ProjectWise

With Navigator CONNECT Edition, you can directly access i-models that are stored in ProjectWise.

Your IT or ProjectWise administrator first needs to install and configure the Bentley Web Services Gateway, which you can download from Bentley's Software Fulfillment Center. Before you can select a file, you need to connect to the ProjectWise repository.

Connect to a server

From the File Open screen, click the Browse button.
In the Repositories screen, click the Connect Server link in the upper right. The Connect to Repository dialog opens.
In the dialog, type the Server URL address supplied by your IT or ProjectWise administrator.
Select the desired repository and provide the appropriate account credentials.
When finished, click Done. The name and description of the repository now appears in the repository list.

You can add as many repositories as you want and they will appear in your repositories list. You will not be asked to login to the repository again after the connection is made unless your password changes. At any time, you can edit the connection to change your password or name of connection. If you no longer want to keep the connection, you can delete the repository and all favorites, folder shortcuts and connection credentials are deleted.

Note: Each project can have its own set of connections so only create the connections you need for your active project.

Selecting an i-model from ProjectWise

Once you are connected to a server, you can select that repository from the list and navigate through the folders to find the i-model you want. Navigating the folder list is very easy; the view shows the content in the current folder you are in. The folder path displays in the upper left and you can select any folder in the path to go directly to it. You can filter what displays on the screen at anytime by using the search bar. If you need to go back to the list of repositories, select the < Repositories link in the upper left.

Once you select an i-model, the file downloads to your device and then opens. Once you open a file, it displays in the Recent list in the File Open screen along with a folder shortcut entry in the left column. Selecting the folder shortcut takes you to that folder so you can select other i-models.

Note: You only can see and access folders and i-models based on the permissions set by your ProjectWise administrator.
