As Built

Span Length

This command updates a span length within a given fiber or copper network.

As-built a Span Length

  1. From the Bentley Fiber menu, select Data Capture > Asbuilt > Span Length.

  2. Select a span to update.
  3. The Span Length dialog box opens.

  4. Key in a new span length, check whether to add the 'Sag' factor, and then select Update.
    Note: The span table automatically updates to reflect the actual span length.
  5. Activating the Place Span Length Text check box places span length text feature in the middle of the span selected.

Tick Marks

Tick Marks are written distances printed on a fiber or copper sheaths that are used to precisely measure the cut cable length.

Add Tick Mark Information to Sheaths

  1. From the Bentley Fiber menu, select Data Capture > Asbuilt > Tick Marks.

  2. Select a span on the fiber route.
  3. The Sheath Ticks dialog box opens.

  4. Key in the starting foot or meter mark and an ending foot or meter mark within the Sheath Ticks dialog box.
  5. Activate the Calculate Length by Tick Marks check box if you want the application to use tick mark total length instead of calculated length captured when routing the fiber or copper network.
  6. Click Update to save the information.
