Slack

Slack locations are maintenance loop features in the Bentley Comms data model which are additional coils of fiber optic or copper cable placed in the field for expansion or reparation purposes.

Open the Slack Attributes Dialog Box

  1. From the Bentley Comms menu, select Fiber/Copper/ISP-Setup > OSP > Slack.

  2. The Slack Attributes dialog box opens.

Editing a Slack Model

  1. Select a Slack from the Device List. Highlighting the Slack loads the information into the dialog box.
  2. Edit the Slack Attributes input fields.
  3. Click Update to save changes into the spec file.

Creating a Slack Model

  1. Key in the Model name.
  2. TTo activate the Select Cell window, type in the cell Name and press enter or click on Select and select the appropriate cell from the Select Cell dialog box list.

  3. Click Add to save the Slack into the spec file.

Deleting a Slack Model

  1. Highlight the name in the Device List.
  2. Click Delete to remove the Slack from the spec file.
    Note: Slack models already used in the network cannot be deleted. In order to delete a Slack model from the Slack Attributes dialog, all of that particular Slack model must be replaced in the existing network before it can be removed.
