Bentley Fiber

Insert to Existing

The Insert to Existing command is used to insert a fiber device in an existing span break point. When in link to strand routing mode, a natural fiber span break point is created at each pole, duct enclosure or pedestal location as a sheath is made up of many linear segments. If using Link to Strand mode, there is no need to use the Break command to define a sheath break point if inserting at an existing facility location. The Break command would only be used in Link to Strand mode if inserting a splice enclosure or other device at a “mid-span” location.

Start the Insert to Existing Command

  1. From the Bentley Fiber menu, select Fiber-Layout > Insert to Existing.

  2. Select the first span of sheath to insert into the splice enclosure.
  3. Select the second span of sheath to insert into the same splice enclosure.
  4. Select the splice enclosure.
  5. The fiber sheath is connected to the existing splice enclosure.
