Problem

Transformation jobs that use Excel transforms fail when running on Russian operating systems, even when the Russian Office Language Pack is installed.

Solution

Change the identity of the "Microsoft Excel Application" in DCOM Config.

1. Open the Component Services window (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Component Services).
   Note: If 32-bit Office is installed, then you must use the 32-bit version of Component Services, which is launched by entering mmc comexp.msc /32 in the Run dialog.
2. Expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer > DCOM Config.
3. Right-click Microsoft Excel Application and select Properties.
4. On the Identity tab, select The interactive user and click OK.
5. Close/end any running Excel processes.
