Configuring the Rendition Service
A rendition is a representation of a file published to another format. You can publish renditions from one or more files in a document. The default rendition formats are PDF, TIFF image, and ASCII text file.
Creating renditions from AssetWise requires the Rendition Service.
General Configuration
- Install the following on the same computer:
- In AssetWise System Management Console, enable Rendition Service (see To Enable the Rendition Service for Your Community ).
- There is a setting in AssetWise Director called Engine to use for Rendition and Server Printing. In a new community, this setting is set to Interplot by default, and there is nothing you need to do. However if your community was upgraded from an earlier version of AssetWise that used the Spicer rendition engine, you will need to change the setting from Spicer to Interplot. This setting can be found in AssetWise Director by opening the System Admin tab ( ) and selecting .
Renditioning Workflow
- Submit - A user selects to rendition one or more files in a document (submits a rendition job).
- Queue - The rendition job goes to the rendition queue.
- Service - Rendition Service gets the job from the queue and sends the files to ProjectWise InterPlot Server for processing.
- InterPlot - ProjectWise InterPlot Server creates the renditions.
- Document - The new renditions are added to the document that contains the original files.
