Defining a Survey Using the Survey Editor

Follow these steps to define a survey, using the Survey Editor.

  1. In AssetWise Director System Administrator, expand Classes & Attributes, and then expand the Documents node in the tree.
  2. Expand the Survey node, and then expand the comments survey node in the tree.
  3. Select a template that was previously created in Creating a Survey Class and Templates, and then click the Survey Editor button on the Tool bar.
  4. Accept or edit the default Code and Name.
  5. In the Child Sections topic, click New.
  6. Enter a Label and Name for the child section.
  7. In the Questions topic, click Update questions. The Update Section Questions dialog appears.
  8. Select a question, and then click OK and save your changes.
    Tip: You might need to press F5 to refresh the screen, if the changes do not immediately appear.
    The tree view for the completed Survey configuration appears similar to the following picture:
    Note: Surveys used for Comments Tracking must contain one question only. You can have an unlimited amount of answers, but only one answer can be selected in the commenting process in the user interface.
  9. When you are finished defining surveys, you must then Approve the template, in order to make them available.
