To Create a Document Copy
A document copy is
a dependent object, which represents the existence of a real-world managed
document in a specific media and location. The document copy may be described
and controlled by attributes such as the copy number and status of the copy,
etc. A singular document object may have many document copies in different
media, such as electronic file, DVD, paper, and microfiche, for example. Real
world managed document objects are stored, distributed, and used as document
copies.
Follow these steps to make a document copy in AssetWise Document Control.
- Open the document for which you want to create a copy, for example:
- Click New Copy. The New Copy dialog appears.
- In the Copy number box, enter a unique number or code that identifies the document copy.
- Select a Type from the list. Your choices are Master, Secondary Master (default), and Copy.
- Select a Media from the list that best represents the document media type, for example, CD, DVD, electronic, hardcopy, or paper.
- In the Remarks box, you can enter additional comments about the document copy.
- When you are finished, click Create. A document copy is created. You may now define additional relationships for the document copy.
