Creating and Removing One Way Exemptions

One Way Exemptions can be used to record contra-flow lanes where one type of traffic is allowed to travel in the opposite direction from the one-way restriction, for example buses.

There must be a separate Record for each exemption on the one-way ESU, and the Records must cover a whole ESU.

To create a One Way Exemption, make a selection on the map and click the ESUs (Type 13) tab. Click the associated ESUID link in the list.

Click the Create New Exemption button. The One Way Exemption dialog opens. Mandatory fields are outlined in red.

Click the Exemption dropdown and select from the list. Choices may include Buses, Cycles, Taxis, Emergency vehicles, and HGVs and Vans.

Enter the Start Date and Start Time of the exemption. Enter the End Date and End Time.

Click the Periodicity dropdown and select from the list. This specifies if the exemption is applied to all days, specific days of the week, work days only, etc.

When you have finished entering the details for the exemption click Save to create the exemption. A success message appears briefly onscreen.

To close a One Way Exemption, navigate to the ESU and click the Close One Way Exemption button associated with it in the One Way Exemption list.

The End Date (One Way Exemption) dialog opens.

Enter or select the Effective Date using the calendar button, then click Save to close the One Way Exemption. A success message appears briefly onscreen.
