End-Dating a Hierarchical Asset
To End-Date a Hierarchical Asset:
- Click the Start Spatial Edits button and select the layer you want to work with. Click Start Spatial Edits.
- Click the Edit Asset button .
- Navigate to the asset you want to work with. On the map, click the asset you want to end-date. Click the Show Attributes button that is on the radial context menu. The Asset details dialog opens.
- Highlight the asset to be end-dated in the hierarchical list view on the left side of the dialog, then click End-Date asset.
- The
End-Date dialog opens. The unique name of the
asset is shown, and the current date appears as the End-Date.
In this example, a child asset is being end-dated.
- Click
End-Date. The End Date dialog closes as does the
Asset details dialog. A success message appears briefly onscreen.
The child asset is removed from the hierarchy.
When you end-date a parent asset, its child assets are also end-dated.
- To end date a parent asset, navigate to and open the asset to its Asset Details dialog.
- In the hierarchy tree, click the parent asset to highlight it.
- Click End-Date asset. An End-Date dialog opens. The unique number of the parent asset is shown. The current date appears as the End-Date. You can change the end-date, but it cannot be a date earlier than the asset creation date. It can be a future date.
- Click End-Date. The dialog closes. A success message appears briefly onscreen. The asset and its children are end-dated. If you query the asset, you will see that the title on the Asset Details dialog is colored red. The end-date appears on the Attributes tab.
