Change Request Statuses
When a change request is created, the initial status is set to "Draft". At this point, the change request is reviewed to determine whether or not the change should be made.
The following table lists all of the possible change request statuses:
Status | Description |
---|---|
Draft | The initial status of the change request |
Proposed | If the change request seems likely to result in actual change, its status changes to "Proposed" |
Canceled | This status is typically used if the draft change request is deemed to not result in change |
Expedited | This status is used
when objects need to be released for change before the change effects analysis
has been completed.
Additional affected objects may still be added to the change request |
Approved | This status locks the change request as a record and releases all affected objects for change implementation purposes |
Rejected | This status is typically used if the proposed change request is deemed to be high risk or not able to be implemented |
Completed | This status is used to close the change request once all affected objects have been changed |
Any time that a change request appears in the Content pane, an administrator or other user with the appropriate account permission can change the change request status by clicking a link in the Status list in the Object menu. In all status changes except a change from "Draft" to "Proposed", a supplementary dialog appears, prompting you to record the date and reason for the change, and other details.
