Dataset Part Validation Utility

Used to check the active workspace for missing parts in parametric cell files (*.bxf and *.paz), compound cell library files (*.bxc), and compound part files. The utility gathers data pertaining to missing parts, conflicts, the directory locations of the Dataset Validation Reports, and the file names of the Dataset Validation Reports.

SettingDescription
Validate Displays various options to set to validate.
  • Compound Parts
  • Parametric Frame Files
  • PAZ Files
  • Cell Libraries
  • Report Null Parts — set to include null parts in the Dataset Validation Reports. Enables for PAZ Files and Cell Library. Null parts are those (cell components) having no family or part assignments.
  • Conflicts — displays the count of conflicted parts in each category. Clicking opens the conflict report in a text editor
OK Proceeds validation and creates the Dataset Validation Reports. A text window opens to display the number of missing parts, the directory locations of the Dataset Validation Reports, and the file names of the Dataset Validation Reports.
Note: This tool is enabled only when the MDL application DSVALIDATE is loaded. Selecting the tool icon automatically loads the application. Because DSVALIDATE is not loaded by default when starting AECOsim Building Designer, the key-in listed for this tool will not respond if keyed in before using the tool icon or menu selection.
