Side Offset Tools

The Side Offset setting appears in the tool settings window property panel for the Place Door, Place Window, and Place User Defined Type tools. For workflow that does not require offset, no Side Offset setting is available.

The Place Door tool settings window displays the Side Offset setting.

When the Preferences property for the Side Offset setting is set to "0" (null value), the Building component places with familiar workflow.

When a distance is specified for Side Offset, the setting places the Building component at the specified distance from a reference point, identified by you. For example, the distance can be from a reference point that is the intersection of a two walls, or the corner of a solitary wall.
