To place a detail callout

Select the Place Detail Callout tool.
Create the detail area symbol (as required). The initial corner of the shape is identified with the first data point for the rectangle and shape options. The center point is identified with the first data point for the circle option. An existing shape is identified with the first data point for the select option.
Create the leader line (as required). The anchor point is identified with the first data point. Leader extensions are placed with successive data points.
Locate the callout symbol. The detail callout symbol is dynamic during leader line placement and is located at the end of the final leader extension.
Reset to accept.

Note: Use Annotation Tool Settings to override default detail callout symbology settings.

Note: Values for drawing and sheet number settings drive cell tags which update detail callout graphic text. When these settings are blank, tags are also blank.
