Architectural discipline Form Keypoints

Keypoints for associative dimensions are available on the corners and vertices of forms; and at locations defined by keypoint tentative snaps. Associative dimensions find these keypoints, using them to maintain associativity between dimension strings and Building components. The following table describes keypoints for Architectural discipline forms.

Architectural Building Designer Tools Keypoint Locations Keypoint Description
Place Wall

14 keypoints: 8 corners; 4 top and bottom corner midpoints; 2 top and bottom surface midpoints.
Place Wall Assembly

14 keypoints: 8 corners; 4 top and bottom midpoint ends – short segments; 2 top and bottom surface midpoints.
Place Column (polygon shapes)

(1) Red keypoints on the corners and vertices; (2) Blue keypoints established by a snap divisor of two.

When the shape of the end of the beam or column is a polygon, then:
  • Keypoints are on all the corners and vertices.
  • Keypoints are on all edges between the corners, including along the length of the beam or column, based on the active keypoint divisor.
Place Column (circle shapes)

(1) Red keypoints on the major and minor axes; (2) Blue keypoints established by a snap divisor of two; (3) Green keypoints on the end points of the center. Keypoints on the center between the ends are established by the snap divisor. Sets of red and blue keypoints are also available on the structural member for every corresponding center keypoint.

When the shape of the end of the beam or column is a circle, then:
  • Keypoints on the ends are the same as circle and ellipse keypoints: center, ends of the major and minor axes; and in between the ends of the axes, based on the active keypoint divisor.
  • Keypoints between the ends are along an imaginary line that connects the center points of the ends; and are based on the active keypoint divisor.
