Using the move tool as an alternative work flow

  1. Select ( Move Component ), tentatively select the interfering duct, and data point an anchor point for the move. Begin moving the duct upward. The move functionality detects connectivity and maintains it by moving the entire run. Dynamics shows the whole run moving upwards.

    The Move Component tool dynamics.

  2. Cancel the Move Component tool with a reset mouse click.
  3. Select the (Move Element) tool from the Common tab, and select the same piece of duct. Move it up enough to clear the interference. Only the selected duct is seen moving upwards in dynamics.

    Move Element ignores connectivity.

  4. (Optional) Use ( Stretch Component ) to shorten the moved duct in order to minimize the amount of space required to complete the run modification.
  5. Place Duct (), and route duct between the moved duct segment and the rest of run. The application automatically places elbows where connect points are sensed.

  6. Use ( Connect Ducts/Pipes ), and join the disconnected elements. The run is modified with the interference eliminated.
