To create a space by selecting a boundary

Select
(
Create Space ).
The Create Space Flood dialog opens.

Ensure the
(Select Shape
and Convert to Space) task is selected in the toolbar. Select an existing shape
element in the view.
For creating 3D spaces, solid shapes such as
one drawn using the
(
Place Free Form
) tool is
selected.
The selected shape converts into space.
