Weather Manager

Used to view and manipulate weather profile data, copy weather profiles into the active project, and load weather profile data from external data files. Weather Manager presents weather profile data in an easy to read and interactive user interface. Weather data included with the weather profiles, once saved to your project, is used in steady state calculations and energy simulations.

Accessed from:

  • Ribbon: Energy Simulator > Data Managers > Databases > Weather Data

Weather Manager is divided into two main panels. A weather profiles panel (left) used to select and manipulate application and project weather profiles, and a data panels display (right) used to view and edit the weather data.

SettingDescription
Application Click to view the Application weather profiles. Application weather profiles are files stored in the AECOsim Energy Simulator application folders. Application weather profiles are read only (marked with a lock icon), but can be copied rendering them read-writable.
Project Click to view the Project weather profiles. Project weather profiles are files stored in the active project folder that contain the weather data used by your project. The default project weather profile is defined in Defaults Manager: Regional. To change it, a weather profile must be copied from the Application weather profiles or imported from an external data file.
Weather profiles Used to manage System and Project Weather profiles with several options for manipulating the profiles. Weather profiles can be imported or copied into your project folders. Project weather profiles can be edited for specific calculations or simulations that may be required on your project.
Profile details Used to view and edit the selected profiles’ location information. These Profile details contain information about geography, latitude and longitude, altitude, weather data source and edit status.
Peaks and lows Used to view and edit the selected weather profile’s Peaks and lows data. The sunniest and hottest times of the year are displayed as are the dimmest and coldest times.
Cooling design data Used to view and recalculate Cooling design data for the selected weather profile location.
Heating design data Used to view and recalculate Heating design data for the selected weather profile location.
Numerical data Used to view the selected weather profile’s Numerical data. You can modify weather data to suit your project's unique set of circumstances, and use it for gains calculations and simulation.
Graphical data Used to view the selected weather profile’s Graphical data. The graph is interactive allowing you to view different data for cooling and heating design days, or any other day of the year.
Notifications Used to validate application/project data and resolve issues with application/project data in real time (as it is being entered in the data manager dialogs) via errors, warnings and messages.
