Span Information

Beam Coordinates
These are the coordinates at both ends of the beam.
Beam Depth Limitation Specified
If a beam depth limitation has been specified, it will be listed.
Beam Size
This is the designed beam size. It is either the optimum size selected by RAM Steel or the user selected size.
Steel Nominal Yield Strength (Fy)
This is the engineer specified nominal yield strength for the beam.
Steel Design Yield Strength (Fy)
This is the design yield strength according to the steel grade and the rules of Table 6-3 in the CISC Handbook of Steel Construction 7th edition, 10th edition, and 1111th edition of the CAN/CSA S16-01, S16-09, and S16-14 codes respectively.
Grade
This is the designated grade for the section. Refer to the documentation on RAM Manager for more information on how the grade is determined.
Beam Length
This is the total length of the beam measured from the centerline of supports. When cantilevers are present, the length of the cantilever and its orientation (right or left) from the beam, is also shown.
