Assign Fixity
The command is used to assign fixity conditions to beams, columns and braces inside RAM Frame. The command is available for beams, columns and braces separately. However, its function is identical for the element types. The dialog box contains three groups of option buttons: one for the major axis, one for the minor axis and one for torsion. The left set of option buttons in each group pertains to the left end of the beam (or top end for columns and braces) while the right set of option buttons in each group pertains to the right end of the beam (or bottom end for columns and braces).
- Fixity - Single will assign fixity to a single beam, column or brace.
- Fixity - Fence will assign sizes for fenced beam, column or brace members.
- Fixity - All will assign sizes to all beams, columns or braces.
Note: Fixity is automatically shown on the appropriate member types when this command is issued. To remove the display of the displayed fixity select the Reset-Model button.
To permanently view member fixity select the appropriate option from the View-Members dialog.
