Beams - Add Off-Grid: Column to Beam

To add a beam from an existing column to an existing beam using an angle measured from the positive X-Axis:

  1. Select the Column-to-Beam (Angle Relative to X-Axis) option button.
  2. Enter the angle (0 to 90 degrees) of the new beam in the Angle edit box. The angle is measured from the X-Axis.
  3. Click the Add button. The dialog box will disappear and the RAM Modeler will enter the Add Beam Off-Grid Layout Mode.
  4. Click the reference column. Crosshairs that indicate the angle will appear.
  5. Click the quadrant for the new beam to be added. The closest intersection of the new beam with an existing member in the selected direction will form the second end of the beam, and the beam will then be added. The beam will automatically attach to existing grids if available, or else it will create new grids as necessary.
