Occasionally it is easier to work with Columns in Text Mode rather than graphically. In those cases, select the Layout - Columns - Text command, and the Column Text Layout dialog box will appear. After performing the desired Add, Change or Delete operations, clicking the Done button will cause the Column Text Layout dialog box to disappear and the window will be updated to reflect the modifications.

Adding a Column:

1. Define the Column properties and location from the dialog box.
2. Click Add. The Column will be added to the model, and added to the list box. Grid Lines will also be added at the location of the column if they do not already exist.

Changing a Column:

1. Find the Column to be changed in the Column Text list box and click it. The column properties will be set in the dialog box and the column will be highlighted.
2. Change the desired properties.
3. Click the Change button. The Column will be changed and updated in the list box. Note that if the coordinates are changed, the coordinate of beams framing into the column will not change.

Deleting a Column:

1. Find the Column to be deleted in the Column Text list box and select it. The properties for the column will be set in the dialog box and the Column will be highlighted.
2. Click the Delete button. The Column will be deleted from the model, and deleted from the list box.
