Unlike the other assign commands, the Assign > Bar Patterns command is performed on entire columns lines as opposed to individual columns. Bar pattern groups must be assigned to a column line before a design can be performed on the column line.

Bar pattern groups are user defined and need to be created before they can be assigned to a column line. If no bar pattern groups have been defined, click the Edit Patterns button to display the Edit Bar Patterns dialog box.

To assign bar patterns to column lines, select up to three bar pattern groups from the Defined Bar Pattern Groups list box. At most, three bar pattern groups can be assigned to a column line.

Click Single, Fence, or All.

Return to the Assign > Bar Patterns dialog box by clicking the right mouse button.

The Cancel button will close the Assign > Bar Patterns dialog box without providing the option to assign the bar patterns to any columns.
