Sizes can be assigned to Steel Joists in the Modeler. The steel joists will then be checked in the RAM Steel Beam Design module using the assigned size, rather than determining the optimum size. It is not necessary to assign sizes to steel joists; the RAM Steel Beam Design module will optimize the size of steel joist members if no assignment is made. This feature is useful when checking an existing design or in cases where a specific joist size is to be used.
