Due to the similarity in Floor Layout Types in a building, it is often easier to copy data from an existing Floor Layout Type and modify it than it is to enter similar Floor Layout Types from scratch. The Layout - Type - Copy command provides means for you to do this.

The Layout - Type - Copy command is only available to empty layout types. For all other layout types, the command will appear grayed-out in the menu.

An empty Layout Floor Type must be selected with the Layout - Type - Select command prior to issuing the Layout - Type - Copy command.

Selecting the Layout - Type - Copy command causes the Copy Floor Type Items dialog box to appear. The name of the empty floor type is listed as the "Copy To" floor type in the upper left corner of the dialog box. All other Layout Types are listed in the Copy From list box.

To copy a floor type:

1. Select or create an empty floor type using the Layout - Type - Select command.
2. Issue the Layout - Type - Copy command.
3. Click the desired "Copy From" Layout Type in the Copy From list box.
4. Select the items to be copied by making the desired selections in the Select Items check boxes.
5. Click the OK button. The selected items will be copied and the Layout Type will be displayed in the RAM Modeler’s window.

Clicking the Cancel button will terminate the Copy command, and no database modifications will be made.
