Layout - Foundations - Modify Elevation

This command is used to lengthen or shorten a column or wall supported by a foundation by changing the elevation of the footing, and hence, the elevation of the bottom of the column or wall. When a Column or Wall is initially modeled, the bottom of column or wall is assumed to be at the base of the story level. Therefore, this command need not be selected unless an extended or shortened column or wall is desired, or to clear any previous assignment made. When a footing elevation is modified, the elevation of the base of the column or wall supported by that footing is modified accordingly.

The tops of columns at the story level can be raised or lowered using the Layout - Columns - Modify Elevation command. The tops of walls at the story level can be similarly raised or lowered using the Layout - Walls - Modify Elevation command.

To modify the top of footing elevation, select the option to either Raise or Lower, and enter the amount by which the top of footing is to be modified, relative to the base of the Story Height of the story. The "Use Base / Story Height" options is used to reset the top of footing.

Once the option has been specified, click Single or Fence.

SettingDescription
Single: Click the target cursor on the footing for which you wish to modify the elevation.
Fence: Fence an area in which all footings will be assigned the modified elevation.

Return to the Modify Footing Elevations dialog box with the Right Mouse Button or the "D" key.

Return to the Layout - Foundations menu with the "M" key.

Clicking the Cancel button or selecting any other RAM Modeler Layout command will end the Layout - Foundations - Modify Elevation command.
