Structural systems
You can use RAM Concept for models that contain any combination of the following:
- one-way slab systems
- two-way slab systems
- beams
- girders
- "wide shallow" beams (that behave similarly to slabs)
- ribs (joists)
- waffles (two-way rib systems)
- mats (rafts)
- openings
There may be steps and changes in thickness and elevations for all of these items.
RAM Concept is not effective, or you cannot use it directly, for the following:
- deep beams using the strut and tie method
- I-shaped sections
- ramps
- concrete sections with internal voids or cells
In most cases, you could model ramps with a large number of steps. The authors do not recommend that you do this for evaluating post-tensioning behavior, as it is not particularly relevant.
