Excel Worksheets

Bentley HVAC component DataGroup dimensional properties are accessible in Excel spread sheets. Four Excel files are delivered in the Bentley HVAC installation: DiffusersWorkbook.xls, FittingsWorkbook.xls, GrilleWorkbook.xls and InlineDevices.xls. Location is set with configuration variable HVAC_EXCEL_DIALOG.

ExportToExcel

The export option provides a schematic representation of entries made in the DataGroup Instance Data panel. Property names and values are matched with graphics and key Excel cells in the worksheets.

To Export component properties to Excel.
  1. Select Place Fitting, Place Diffuser, Place Grill or Place Inline Device tools.

  2. Key-in entries for any of the available DataGroup properties.

  3. Position the pointer over any of the Properties in the DataGroup Instance Data dialog box.

  4. Right mouse click.

  5. Select the ExportToExcel option.

    An Excel file opens with front and top views of the active component. Dimensions corresponding to DataGroup custom properties are available as values in cells.

ImportFromExcel

The import option provides a schematic representation of entries available in the DataGroup Instance Data panel. Property names and values entered in Excel are matched with DataGroup properties in DataGroup Instance Data panel.

To Import component properties from Excel.
  1. Navigate to folder where Excel workbooks are located. Location is set with configuration variable HVAC_EXCEL_DIALOG

  2. Open desired workbook, and select the worksheet associated with the desired component.

  3. Modify the values in cells provided.

  4. Save the changes.

  5. Select Place Fitting, Place Diffuser, Place Grill or Place Inline Device tools.

  6. position the pointer over any of the Properties in the DataGroup Instance Data dialog box.

  7. Right mouse click.

  8. Select the ImportFromExcel option.

    The values entered in the previous step will be imported to their corresponding DataGroup properties in the Instance Data panel.
