Weir Coefficient Table

A typical assumption used in generating the hydraulic rating of weir structures using the general weir formula is that the C factor is constant over the full range of discharges experienced by the weir structure:


This is often not the case, particularly for broad-crested weirs where C generally increases with increasing H (approach depth above the crest). Ultimately the C value approaches some limiting value, at which point the broad-crested weir begins performing like a sharp-crested weir.
