§10.2 Beam-to-Column Joints and Connections

The required shear strength of the connection (Vu) is provided for the load combination 1.2D + 0.5L + 0.2S + 2.0 x (1.1 Ry Fy Z) / L. The maximum shear from the amplified seismic load combinations is also provided.

IMF connections are required to be prequalified, refer to the commentary in AISC 2002 for more information.
